Easter Joy is Life itself
As seen in the eyes of a child,
Delighted by a feathered nest
And the chirp of the one inside.
Easter Joy is Life itself
As seen in the budding trees,
No longer able to restrain
Crystal blossoms that scent the breeze.
Seen also in an empty tomb
The linens lie unneeded,
Like the chrysalis shell of the butterfly.
“He has risen!” “Yes, risen indeed!”
Easter Joy is Life in Him
Who burst death’s bond, now free
He holds our hand and leads the way
To give us victory.
Easter Joy is Life itself,
The bond-bursting, shell-shattering kind,
May Hand-held faith and joy in Him
Be yours this Eastertide.
